Mountaineer Woodturners is a chapter of the American Association of Woodturners established in 1988.

Joe Smith will be conducting 5 Road Scholar (Elderhostle) workshops this year at Cedar Lakes. - May 6-11, August 19-24, September30-October 5, October 28-Novenber 2, and November 25-30.

Club member Dan Pleska has recently been juried into Tamarack with "Asian Influenced Boxes." As a new artisan at Tamarack he has been offered a table space in the Tamarack tent at the Mountain State Arts and Crafts Fair, July 2 - 4, where he will offer his boxes.

Charlie Brown was elected to the Tamarack Advisory Board as the representative for wood products.

Dave Shombert was accepted into the Southern Highland Craft Guild, which operates out of Asheville, NC, and has a total of five galleries. There are two galleries in Asheville, one in Blowing Rock, NC, one in Gatlinburg, TN, and one in Cumberland Gap National Park in Kentucky. It is the second oldest craft guild in the country.
