September 2010
Since I was not able to attend the September meeting, I have very little news to report, nor is there anything for the Show and Tell portion.
We had a new member join our group, Robert Ellis. Welcome aboard Robert.
The September Newsletter of the Valley Woodworkers is dedicated to the memory of our long-term member Carl Mercer and Roy Reveal (a former member).

Business
Our treasurer, EJ, reports that there is $2961 in the treasury.
EJ also collected $571.50 from the wood and tool auction.
In other fiscal matters, John Sheets was paid for the picnic and shelving expenses. Byron Young was paid for the shelves.
There will be an election of Mountaineer Woodturners officers during the November meeting. All four officers (President, Vice-president, Treasurer, and Secretary) will be replaced. The new officers will take office beginning with the January meeting.
Next Month’s Meeting
To be announced
Turners on the Porch
"Turners on the Porch" held at Woodcraft in Parkersburg is a joint venture with the Southeastern Ohio Woodturners from Athens. It's just an informal get-together of both clubs to do a little simple turning, demonstrating, visiting, info swapping, and lying for a few hours. Sometimes there are a few customers who will stop and watch.
Hope to see you there.
Miscellaneous
The Newsletter will be sent by e-mail to those members who have given me their email address. This medium will contain an HTML document in which I have included links to pictures of the "Show and Tell" items as well as a link to the website.
The Newsletter with pictures is also available on the website.
