Show and Tell

Dave Jones brought a wonderful spaulted Oak lidded vase with a Walnut top.
He had a small turned lidded box from Cedar with a Holly finial.
There was also a small lidded vase
Tom Schottle brought in some of his wonderful Alabaster turnings. He had an attractive orange Alabaster footed bowl with an Ebonized lid.
He also showed us the wooden prototype of that footed bowl, also with an Ebonized top.
Tom brought a chess piece he had turned from Alabaster.
He also had a nice white Alabaster dish
and a wooden scoop, which was turned using 4 centers.
Jim Morrison brought in an attractive vase turned from a construction laminate used for making support beams. He thinks the laminate is made of Poplar.
Mike Wade (Remember him?) brought a fine Walnut bowl.
Tom Wolf had a nice lidded box turned from Ash with an Ebony handle
U.K. Dawson brought in a pair of attractive bud vases turned from pieces of American Chestnut fence rails.

Annual Wood and Tool Auction

There was not much wood to be auctioned this year. Jim Morrison donated a piece of that construction laminate. Then there were a couple little bundles of exotic wood mixtures. There were some nice tool bargains, though, in addition to some nice chucks. The auction netted the organization about $290. Thank for the tool and wood donations. And special thanks to our auctioneer, the renowned Bob Fleming!
