Show and Tell

The Show and Tell was enjoyed by all.

Tom Schottle showed us a Beautiful Walnut bowl, decorated with off-center turned grooves.
Jim Meyer brought in three very nice small segmented bowls
John Crede showed us an incredible bowl turned from architectural plywood at a 30o offset.
Ron Jones brought in a nice small bowl turned from a Maple burl.
He also had a large bowl from a burl (I think it was also Maple).
Ron also showed us a fine box turned from (I think) Cherry.
Ervin Jones, a visitor, showed us a large attractive spaulted bowl he had turned.
He also had a nice box from Cherry.

Program

The session by Andrew Brown

was directed toward younger turners, but there was a lot of useful information for all.

Andrew titled the demonstration "Dorm room and college essentials". He showed how to make:

Oil lamps
Noise makers

Toothbrush holders
Door wedges
Ceiling fan pulls
Refrigerator magnets

Miscellaneous

Andrew Brown recommended a neat website for all sorts of hard to find items. Check it out (www.sciplus.com).

The Newsletter will be sent by e-mail to those members who have given me their email address. This medium will contain an HTML document in which I have included links to pictures of the "Show and Tell" items as well as a link to the website. Those who do not have e-mail addresses listed with me will receive the usual hardcopy newsletter by US snailmail. Any others who wish a newsletter by mail should let me know.

Please send me pictures of your work so that I can add it to the gallery.

The Newsletter with pictures is also available on the website.
