Picnic

We had another great picnic. About 30 persons were present. There was wonderful food and conversation. Even the weather great.

Some of the folks let their picture be taken

(Byron's lidded jar is in the center here.)

Ervin Jones brought a beautiful covered dish from Spaulted Maple

Joe Smith showed us a large Cherry Burl vase he had turned, then told us a story (a "Smith Tale" ?) about how he was able to obtain the burl

John Crede brought a wonderful laminated cup and saucer,

and a really nice segmented bowl.

Byron Young had a wonderful large lidded jar from Ambrosia Maple (?).Unfortunately the photo of the amazing work did not turn out.

Dave Jones brought an attractive Sea Urchin Christmas tree ornament.

He also had one of his wonderful Walnut plates; someone suggested he is determined to take up an offering.

Dave showed us a bowl from Slash Pine. It really made his shop smell good.

Bob Lett brought in two wonderful large Cherry bowls.

He had textured the rim of one of them.

The Morrison Family: Jim had one of his beautiful bowls made using his "ring cutter" system.

He also had an incredible segmented "basket" bowl.

His daughter showed us her first turned bowl, from Maple. It was a really nice job.
